Background Philosophy
Most children love to move and be free to express through their bodies from a very young age. Creative Movements works on what the child can do naturally and develops and extends this over a period of time.
Experimenting with and expressing through the body gives the child a firm sense of self which is carried with confidence into the outside world. This confidence is precious and achieved by them at their own pace.
Working with a story encourages the child to play with the make believe and enter the world of the imagination.
The sessions have a healthy balance between movement, stillness, talking and listening, being part of a group yet maintaining individuality.
Most importantly the emphasis is on having fun. By creating a safe and contained atmosphere where boundaries and freedom are carefully nurtured, the child can explore and excel in his/her own natural movement.
