What we do

Creative Movements works with a combination of dance, music, drama and storytelling to offer a resourceful pool of techniques discovered and drawn upon by each individual. Through our creative program we encourage the child to explore the potential of their bodies and to express themselves through the joy of movement.

Classes are carefully developed for every age group, with each class having its own individual structure.

Most children love to mimic the world around them and be free to express through their bodies from a very young age. Creative Movements works with what the child can do naturally and develops and extends this over a period of time. Working with our tailored stories encourages the child to 'play' with the make believe and discover the world of the imagination.

From a young age we aim to help the child establish connections between self and the broader environment.

Sessions will often be built around subjects such as the environment, seasons, sharing, expression of feelings and morals.

Experimenting with and expressing through the body gives one a firm sense of ‘self’ which can be carried with confidence into the outside world. This confidence is precious and achieved at the individuals own pace.
